AeroVironment secures $288 million delivery order for Switchblade systems for the US Army

American defense contractor AeroVironment has been awarded a third delivery order for its Switchblade loitering munition system.

The delivery order, totaling $288 million, comes as part of the U.S. Army’s Directed Requirement (DR) for Lethal Unmanned Systems (LUS). The delivery falls under a 5-year Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract from Army Contracting Command-Aberdeen Proving Ground, with a contract ceiling of $990 million. This follows from a second delivery order announced just last month for $55.3 million.
