U.S. Central Command establishes first one-way attack drone squadron in the Middle East

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced earlier this month the formation of a new task force dedicated to the military’s first one-way attack drone squadron based in the Middle East.

Task Force Scorpion Strike (TFSS) was launched earlier this month in direct response to Secretary of War Pete Hegseth’s “Unleashing U.S. Military Drone Dominance” July initiative, which focuses on accelerating the acquisition and deployment of affordable drone technology. The task force’s mission is to rapidly deliver low-cost and effective drone capabilities to warfighters.
