The U.S. Department of War has announced the Drone Dominance Program (DDP) to revolutionize the deployment of small unmanned aerial systems (sUAS) for One-Way Attack (OWA) missions. This program, outlined in the Secretary of War’s July 2025 memo, seeks to “accelerate growth of the U.S. industrial base to outfit our combat units with cheap and effective U.S.-made UAS.”

The War Department has issued a request for information this month to assess industry’s capacity to rapidly and cost-effectively produce approximately 300,000 drones. This initiative is a direct response to Secretary of War Pete Hegseth’s efforts to fulfill the “drone dominance” objectives outlined by the president.
